We offer a number of treatments and can give you advice to reduce your active acne and acne scars.

What is acne?

Acne is a chronic inflammatory skin condition that occurs when the hair follicles become clogged with oil (sebum), bacteria, and dead skin cells. It often appears as blackheads, whiteheads, papules, pustules, nodules, or cysts and can range from mild to severe. Acne is most common on the face, chest, back, and shoulders.

What Causes Acne?

  • Excess oil (sebum) production – Overactive sebaceous glands can block pores.
  • Bacteria (Propionibacterium acnes) – Bacteria multiply in clogged pores, causing inflammation.
  • Hormonal fluctuations – Increased androgens (e.g., during puberty, pregnancy, or hormonal imbalances) can trigger breakouts.
  • Diet & lifestyle – High-sugar diets, dairy, stress, and certain medications can contribute to acne.
  • Genetics – Some people are more prone to acne due to hereditary factors.

What is Acne Scarring?

When acne lesions heal, they can leave behind scars or pigmentation due to collagen damage. The most common types of acne scars include:

  • Atrophic scars – Depressions or pits in the skin (e.g., ice pick, boxcar, and rolling scars).
  • Hypertrophic scars – Raised scars caused by excess collagen production.
  • Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) – Dark spots left behind after acne heals.

How Can It Be Treated?

  • Microneedling with Exosomes – Stimulates collagen production, reducing scarring and smoothing skin texture.
  • Polynucleotides – Regenerate and repair damaged skin, reducing inflammation and promoting healing.
  • Skin Boosters – Deeply hydrate the skin, improving overall texture and reducing rough patches.
